Thanks guys, I have an Academy Spitfire MkXIV which I may use for an additional build, though its a C-wing. The sky colour for the codes is off completely.

That's why I splurged on Aeromaster decals for the Spitfire Mk.XIV when they came out. My first griffin engine Spitfire. It's sitting on my shelf with Southeast Asia markings. :)
On second thoughts, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place!

Looking forward to watching this, saw this kit many times but isn't it a Fujimi one not Hasegawa?

You are so right. I have no idea why I thought it was Hasegawa. . .thanks for pointing it out. Can't wait to start, but I need to finish the Do17 for the Spanish GB first.

That's why I waited for Aeromaster to release their Mk.XIV in 1/72 scale to do 'Ginger'Lacey's postwar Spit.

That's an attractive Spit, Chuck.
Looking forward to this build, Dave.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

I might be able to pull that one off, too. I have enough SEAC roundels and could do the nose art.

Here's the original decal sheet. There are a few good options should you get hold of one.

I really should look at the kit, because this is one of the decal options without me having to do the artwork. Maybe a dual build with the Academy kit.

Here's the progress so far. The detail level is excellent. The cockpit isn't. It's a tub, stick and seat. For the level of detail for the rest of the kit, it's a big let down. The other issue with the kit is they used one mould for different marks. You need to fill certain holes/openings (PR spots, C-wing casing chutes, PR cabin pressure intake) open others (gun ports for barrels, antennas). The fitting of the raised fuselage for the kit doesn't fit well. It does build nicely and I'm sure will look good once complete.

And some paint on the underside.

Top side's drying and need to fill in a couple of spots before the final coats. The wing root didn't fill as well as I had thought.

Thanks for looking

Are you building with closed canopy? If so, the lack of detail might not be much of a problem. It wasn't for the bubble-top FR14 I built stock.
