I might join in after I finish my Condor Legion 109 as I have an Airfix PR.XIX in the stash.

I have read recently that there were two different Interior Green colors for late Spitfires. Did Westland have a different shade of green?

Spitfire interior green is different to MAP Interior green (Hu78) and is apparently a close match to Pre-hornby Hu90. I don't know how close a match it is but Edgar Brooks believes this is true and I tend to bow to his knowledge of all things Spitfire.

With my Lunar Module now almost finished I think I can safely express an interest in this to add a model or two to my spitfire shelf with your indulgance for a late starter.

Hi All,

Question for all you Spitfires Fans - If I combinded the Fuselage of Airfix's PR XIX withthe wings of Airfix's F. MK.22 - would I get a Spitfire MK.21?

Would I need to alter the tail?

and if so, what MK could I make with the left over MK.22 fuselage and the MK.XIX wings?

In essence the PR19 fuselage and mk22 wing would give you a F.21 but the left over fuselage and wings would not go together as an F18 without a fin/rudder/tailplane from another PR19 kit and other parts for the armament.

OK, so resign the left over bits to the spares bin, but in essance I could get a F.MK.21 from the two kits? cool, I've never kit bashed before so I may have a go!

Can anyone recommend a good book that goes through all the Spitfire/Seafire MKs?

You can't go wrong with these publications. The Merlin one is great too & I think you can pick up the pair on offer.

I think this was a great group build with the different marks, colour schemes etc., and level of participation. Well done all.
