Saxon's Fujimi Spitfire FR Mk 14E - **DONE**
Re: Saxon's Fujimi Spitfire FR Mk 14E - Resurrected!
I really do think that the Fujimi kit is over engineered. No doubt to facilitate many versions by re-popping the moulds. I test fit mine before settling down to the kit I am building and everthing fits OK but is finicky as the devil.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

It is very over engineered and finicky Jssel! Anyway I have soldiered on and what do you know, when you glue the cowling the right way around it actually fits!jssel wrote:I really do think that the Fujimi kit is over engineered. However as you can see filler and sanding will be needed.

Over-engineering is a feature of lots of Fujimi kits but you're doing a great job of overcoming that with this build.

Thanks Tom, it is still a fine kit despite the many pieces.
Current progress, just painted the underside.

Nice recovery there! Looks a fine kit even if a little complex
Re: Saxon's Fujimi Spitfire FR Mk 14E - Resurrected!
Thanks MDT, it is over complex and kind of suffers for it as well.
Ok update pic on my Spits.

Both looking great. Love the camo work.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

I must agree that the spit looks really great now. Keep it up
On second thoughts, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place!
Re: Saxon's Fujimi Spitfire FR Mk 14E - Resurrected!
Thanks for the comments! One thing that slowed me down a little was the white stripes, usually I paint them on first but this time I decided to use the kit decals which ended up tearing so I had to paint them on over the camo so heaps of masking, which I hate.
Anyway, Here is where I am at, will be finished by April 1st deadline

Thanks for the comments Prisicia and OT.
Ok, so I have noticed the wing stripes are in the wrong place, but it still looks good, so I am leaving it!
