Tom's Seafire Mk.XVII **Finished**

For post-war Spitfires and Seafires, any kit as long as it's 1/72 scale.
Runs March 1st to April 1st.

This is looking great, will be fun to see when you get some paint on. Not a scheme I often sea built ;-)
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

Painting has begun, first coat of Extra Dark Sea Grey (Hu123) applied to the upper works as well as first coats of red for the spinner and white for the tail:

This is always the longest stage for me thanks to the lengthy drying times associated with enamel paints.

Three coats of Sky later and I could remove the masking, a few touch-ups here and there and this is the result:

Still need to build up the white on the rudder (evil colour that it is :evil: ) but we'll soon be ready for a decalling session or two :grin:

Looking very nice.
White is indeed ugly to paint, brush painting I assume? Many thin layers over a white primer usually does the trick. ;-)

I must say that those post war FAA schemes do look nice.
