'tis quiet here - EE Lightning SB anyone? *** SB is Open ***
Hi All,
Havng read the current conflab in the GB sections - I thought it might be nice to get some action going in this rather nice, but rather neglected part of UAMF.
Having kicked off something twice before - I'd thought I'd go for the hat-trick and try again and maybe actually finish the build this time (just please God no more Harriers!).
Once I finish my current builds (or there-abouts), the next on the pile is the Matchbox Lightning T.55 kit (and maybe the new tool Airfix F.2) - anyone fancy joining me for a E.E. Lightning SB - any kit, any scale?
(or any other ideas? - Just no Harriers!_ )
Cheers
Stuart

I'd say so yes - it's always interesting to see how kits compare. What kits do you have Fred?fredk wrote:Any version, any kit of an EE Lightning?

That's an interesting selection of kits (I have the F.2A too) - when do you fancy starting?

I'm quite chock-a-block until Christmas and the week after, but from Jan 1st I should be free to start anytime.Sir T wrote:... when do you fancy starting?
You could start anytime and I'll just join on in [?]
I might do the F6 first. It being a simpler kit.

That sounds good to me - I could open the thread now (ish) to kick things off (I want to get my current builds moved on a bit too) and then we could crack on with it in the new year.fredk wrote:I'm quite chock-a-block until Christmas and the week after, but from Jan 1st I should be free to start anytime.Sir T wrote:... when do you fancy starting?

Mmm.... Could do - the T.55 is at the top of my build pile as I'm doing it for a friend - but I could do the F.2A at the same time.fredk wrote:Idea; Although its not top of my list, we could all start with the 2A

That would work for me, it can be quite interesting to see the diffrent marks and kits - that's what we did in the Airfix Harrier SB a few years back.fredk wrote:idea; or we could do three different versions at the same time,

Any room for an old tool Airfix Lightning/Aeroclub E.E. P-1a conversion ?

Re: 'tis a bit quiet around here - EE Lightning SB anyone?
After hanging several off my K-2 Tanker, I am down to one Lightning not named P-38-- the Whirlikits 1/72 T.5 resin job, is that allowable ?
I don't really want to start right away, I have some work & other priorities to get off the bench and holiday plans are unsure -- sounds like 2020 maybe just kidding, but I cannot start right away other than maybe paw over the box, check parts and decals.
