Re: Historical References
Both Flypast and Aeroplane magazines have extensive features on the Dambusters in their latest issues.

The 617 Operational Record Book (ORB) is available here:
http://www.dambusters.org.uk/docs/recordbook.pdf;
It has additional annotation by Tobin Jones (well done that man!).

Re: Historical References
Many of us will build the Lancaster for this so here are the printed Lancaster references I am using.
There was a very good Osprey Album on the Lancaster which was later also published by Chancellor Press.
This was a picture file of the two flyers, it could have been so much more if they had also included single shots of all of the static survivors.
SAM Modeller's Datafile 4: The Avro Lancaster, Manchester & Lincoln.
an indispensible book crammed full of detail.
STORY OF A LANC'
A picturial booklet printed as a fundraiser by RAF Scampton to raise funds for the upkeep of NX611 when it was on gateguard duties there. Lots of detail pictures of the aeroplane now called 'Just Jane'
The Pilot Press Lancaster III cutaway.
This port side view cutaway is very useful and has been published in a number of publications.
The 'Flight' Lancaster I Cutaway,
Also published in a number of publications and once given away as a blueprint in Aeroplane Monthly this Starboard side drawing is a useful companion to the later cutaway.

Re: Historical References
Can I recommend this book to everyone, part of the Osprey Elie Unit series and by Alex Bateman. I have found it really interesting with the usual classic colour plates and a wealth of great detail.
Best Regards

Re: Historical References
My much better half Su and I were lucky enough to catch this great olde gal when it visited from Canada in 2010. I thought some of these pics may help in those hard to see areas. I now know for instance I have one of my seats in the wrong spot....
