Nice touch giving the crew a roll of honour Jim.

Re: Jim's AJ A
Yes, I find the models of real aircraft and crew, emotional, I never feel I'm doing the crew justice or providing enough respect to their memory.
Anyhow, got stuck over the last couple of days.
Started in the cockpit, and had suspicons it wasn't right the Pilot's plinth looked too long, and the seat is way too far from the instrument panel, so shortened plinth, moved seat, and filled ejector marks.
When through the aircrew I had, stole a couple out of an Italeri He111, the bomb aimer and the pilot, a nice under scale Frog pilot figure for Tail end charlie, and the grey figures are either Revell RAF aircrew or Luftwaffe, with some head swaps..
Added the prominent gauge in the centre of the IP.
Then we got to the thing I was dreading, I have a thing about turrets, I have a fear I would get bogged down with detail, but the front one is all good...
A couple of hours with hole punch, plasticard and stretched sprue, I'm happy, and it does all fit under the clear part...
Oh yes I've also cemented the mine together, nice rivet detail on the edges.
Only other thing I've done is drill out the camera port in the bomber aimer's position, so I can add the nose spot light.
Cheers
Jim

Very nice! Will you be mounting it on a stand, wheels up?

Thanks guys, yep that's my idea Paul. I thought it'd be neat to have the crew in their positions on a bowling run.PaulBradley wrote:Very nice! Will you be mounting it on a stand, wheels up?

Superb work on the gun turret. It looks like you've assembled your very own dirty dozen seven.

I think you ought to think about electrifying it, as well....imagine, the spotlights, subdued cabin lights.....spinning props. Spinning bomb.....

Paul, LED's in the spotlights did cross my mind, but I'll keep it simple for this one..

A very impressive start, Jim. That turret blows me away!

Great start Jim and I also really like the work you've put into the turret.

Re: Jim's AJ A
Thanks guys, an empty turret just one of those "bug me" things, good fun filling it with bits..
I did a bit of painting yesterday, just a bit of blue on the figures, been working on the computer most of the day, and the eyes weren’t up top the fine stuff last night.
Got a couple more days of working at the computer so we'll see how the eyes fare.
Cheers
