Re: Previously built Stangs
I haven't built a P-51 for about 15 years. In fact, since I did these:
This was for the Planes of Fame at Grand Canyon, where I used to work. Also did one of the Bf109, with an equally large number of models.
Front Row, L-R:
P-51 Prototype, converted from Accurate Miniatures Mustang I
Mustang I, Accurate Miniatures
A-36, Accurate Miniatures
P-51, Accurate Miniatures
P-51A, Accurate Miniatures
Middle Row, L-R
P-51B/Mustang III, Accurate Miniatures
P-51C, Accurate Miniatures
P-51D, Monogram
P-51D, ?? (I didn't build this one)
P-51D, Monogram
P-51D, Monogram
Back Row, L-R
P-51D, Monogram
P-51D, Monogram
P-51D, Arii
P-51H, converted from Monogram
F-82, Modelcraft
The Accurate Miniatures kits were, of course, excellent, but the Monograms were a bit of a pig - they date from the late 60's...(They were bought for me, as I would never have chosen to build it!). A fun project, but, as I say, I haven't built a Mustang since...........

Re: Previously built Stangs
Here is my motley collection of Mustaches:
Academy version of P-51B 'Old Crow' from a few years ago. Louis mullered the prop in the 'day of infamy'. He must have hated the decal invasion stripes, too. Boy's got taste . . .
Old tool Airfix P-51D from the Riff RAAF GB: http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=186&t=2003:
Monogram 1/72 F-82G nightfighter from the Korean War, built for the Basil Brush GB: http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=193&t=2553:
regards,
Martin

Re: Previously built Stangs
This was my first build when i got back into model building. I paid a $1 for it and that was too much. That said it provided a test bed for my airbrushing.
