Re: Paul's Canadian Horse
Great work Paul, the shading effect on the undersides looks to have worked very well.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Cheers, Sissel and Shaun. The pre-shading effect is actually a bit subtler in real life than in the photo.

Re: Paul's Canadian Horse
Forgot to take a photo yesterday when I painted the Ocean Grey, then I had masked and painted the Dk Green before I realized....Nevertheless, the main paintwork is done:
The pre-shading got a bit too covered up and is subtler than I wanted. (in other words, you cannot tell at all...)
I'm a little annoyed that my usually reliable Tamiya tape pulled up some paint in about 5 spots, necessitating some touch-up. I'd also forgotten to paint the Sky band on the rear fuselage, so I had to paint that by hand..... But aside from that......
Decals tomorrow. Should be done by Friday bedtime.

Wow that looks beautiful, such smooth and lovely paint job. Sky band looks great, can't tell its hand painted.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

Re: Paul's Canadian Horse
That looks really great Paul. I've been there with the pre-shading malarky, the art is knowing just when to stop with the top coats. The last time I tried it I also covered the pre-shade lines to the extent that I might as well have saved myself the trouble of doing them in the first place! You've managed a lovely smooth looking finish here though.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Thanks, Shawn. Yup, pre-shading is an art....
Just added a coat of Future, so that I can do decals tomorrow.

Re: Paul's Canadian Horse
Decals on, undercarriage on, fiddly bits on. Nearly there...!
I need to tidy up the paintwork a bit, add weathering, finish the whip aerial housing on the spine, add the landing light cover and finish the prop. Might get done tomorrow night, or early Saturday morning, if you guys are agreeable to a very short extension...?

Re: Paul's Canadian Horse
Not much left now. Looking great!
It says this lasts till June 1st, so I'd take that as the whole Saturday? Plenty of time Paul, you can treat yourself to a beer while finishing up this build

Thanks Sissel!
Ohh, so it does! No need to ask for extra time then - should be able to finish Saturday, no problem. That'll teach me to read the rules.....
