These will be my builds.




Going to start them a few days after I'm back from holiday mid May.
Have not decided on schemes for the P-51s yet. Will not be using kit decals, but some sweet Latin American ones I recently bought.
Probably one camo and one silver. Will look over them when I'm back and then decide.
I have to say I am very excited about building a non-US Mustang for the first time.

Sissel, the Revell Mustang you have bought is the original and highly innacurate kit from the 1960s- for some reason they still insist on using this mould despite having a better but not perfect Matchbox tool they could use. it is a reasonable build but don't expect it to look very realistic,

Am building it oob and will see how it goes. If it's bugging me too much I can always bring out the sledgehammer.

I've heard the same thing about that kit. It sounds like its very Starfix like.

No worries Jeff, it would be worse if I wasn't prepared. I know it's a horrible kit, so I wont get too fussed about it. If it looks decent when stuck together I will use aftermarket decals, if it doesn't look like much I will either use kit decals or a sledge hammer.

This my old build of the Revell kit in the original 'Millie P' markings. It is a cartoon version of a P-51 and is only worth building for nostalgia's sake.

I have built the Academy and Monogram ones they are quite good.

As mentioned above the Revell one is a dog, if you are using aftermarket decals, please don't waste them, the kit does not even look like a P-51D!! Have a look at the links Sissel! The nose on it is way too long and I am surprised that Revell in all their plastic wisdom are still releasing the damn thing as it goes back a fair bit!

I know that Saxon. I am fully aware of it's inaccuracies. Noticed a while back. Also the tail seems to short in height. I don't care much about that as it's just a 'casual' build, just want to have fun building it. And if I don't, like mentioned before, it will be even more fun smashing it.

The red Millie P must have been accurate.......it was in Profile Publications.

That old Revell P51 makes the starfix one look superb. (I know. I have both) I was considering building the Revell one just for the laugh but hey, some things just ain't funny. Looking forward toyour builds Sissel. I know you will do an excellent job on them.

That's cool, I was actually surprised to learn it was the same old kit in the new boxing. I have one as well but will do it as a what if to get around the inaccuracies - and I am not one who worries alot about accuracy so it is saying a lot!
