I hate when decals crumple, sometimes impossible to fix.

Re: Sissels Three Birds (yes I changed the title again!!)
Thanks guys for the encouraging words.
These Aztec decals are great though. Wont hesitate buying decals from them again.
When I get back tonight I will put more decals on and hope the last one on the Cuban doesn't give me another fit!
Another hot day for May. 25C. With the humidity here it feels like over 30.
Oh it certainly did! It was so unessecary of me. Decal had been put down nicely and all that needed was the microsol to settle it down. Then I was simply clumsy handling the plane when putting other decals on, and one of my tools accidentally touched the decal and crumbled and moved it. Tried putting it back gently but it was too late.ShaunW wrote:Looking good Sissel - that decal must have annoyed you a lot though! I would have stomped around the modelling room

25 degrees? you lucky lady, enjoy that warmth. It's rubbish here in northern England, it can't be more than 12 degrees and it's been raining most of the day. When's the summer going to come
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Re: Sissels Three Birds (yes I changed the title again!!)
We've had a fair bit of summer already, but unstable weather this spring, like always. One day 25C, next day 10C is not unusual. But now I'm just enjoying what we have.
The last decal to go on the Cuban was this. Gotta love what happened. I give up...!
Luck in bad luck, atleast it's on the side with no fuselage insignia!

OUCH. That's bad luck there Sissel. Great work on the Stangs though. I'll have a look through my decal stash and see if I have any Cuban decals suitable for the fuselage for you.
All the best.

Hi Sissel, I've looked in my stash and can't find anything that would help you, can I suggest that you appeal for replacement decals in the "wants and needs" section as someone may have them spare.

Re: Sissels Three Birds (yes I changed the title again!!)
They are now finished, rushed in the end. Not my best, but happy with them (except for decal troubles on the Cuban) under the circumstances. The matt varnish I put on the Dominican acted strange. Almost looks like slight, slight weathering some places.

The Dominican is my favourite. Simply because it's not silver!

They looks great Sissel and it's a real change to see models from some of the oddball air forces portrayed.

Some of those decals are certainly given you hell Sissel, but the final models look very good from here and it's a nice change to see Mustangs in different markings to the usual USAF and RAF options.

You made the deadline, cool.
They all look good, how interesting to see those banana republic type markings.

Three nice Mustangs. A nice variety of markings.

Thanks guys!
There are two more Latin Eagles on that sheet I can use. Maybe for next year. As much as I love Mustangs I can't see myself building more of them anytime soon (apart from the one in the Wulf GB)..

Re: Sissels Three Birds *** Finished ***
I see in my daze I forgot to mention what I thought of the kits.
I can fully hearted say that next time I'm gonna build a P-51, I will buy that Academy kit. Went together hassle free, and much better fit than the Airfix. I enjoyed that build more, despite the decal trouble, which offcourse has got nothing to do with the construction.
The Airfix kit does however have more beautiful lines, with an eye sight it would seem the front/nose is longer than the Academy, comparing length from canopy. The Academy kit seems a bit more 'clumpy'. Which is more correct of these, I wouldn't know.
