A second silver coat did the trick. Will need touch ups here and there. Paint wheel bays walls which I've forgotton. Paint red ring in front which should have been done prior to putting prop on, doh! Will try taking it off if possible without breaking. Put pilots in, etc. etc.

Put a second coat on this one as well. Looks better now. Rady for tan earth camo pattern.

Put some decals on the props. Boy, are they fiddly.

Feel like there is lots left, but I think I will finish before the deadline. For some odd reason I'm not enjoying these builds.

Happens to all of us - I feel the same about my Mustang build, though there's nothing inherently wrong with it. Just one of those things...

They all look great Sissel :) and you are nearer the finish than you feel you are.

Maybe you feel rushed because of the deadline, or because its the same type and its a bit dull that way.

You are right on both, I feel pressure but I don't like to quit, so I will finish. And I do love Mustangs, my favorite plane. But I am bored out of my mind. :frown:

Not been lucky with the paint this time. Second camo layer on this. It doesn't look good on fuselage. Had I had patience I would have rubbed it down and repainted. But I just don't bother. Blah! Yes, I am a little grumpy.

Image

I couldn't get the spinner off so I tried with some fiddly masking and painted the red. Didn't thin paint enough, but it will look better/more flat when dried.

Image

I tried with some decals on the Cuban. The shark mouth in front did not go on well. My fault. I thought about cutting it in half, that would have been easier to put on. Now I hope the microsol will help settle down, but it doesn't look smooth. Real pita!
Top of the tail decal decided to crumble a little inwards after 15 minutes. It looked fine with microsol after 5-10 minutes. I tried to fix it by dragging it back out, but it was set. When the other side is on I will go over with blue paint.

After this... the Cuban decided to attack the Dominican. It dropped off shelf onto the wing. I feared the worst, but no damage. Phew.

Those are starting to look great Sissel. Very nice work indeed. I'm opposite to you. enjoying the build but getting little time to get at them. Still I should get some time over the next few days and should get two of them done.

All the best.

Thanks guys. Hoping you will finish yours as well Greg :)

Barbeque at a cabin in the forest tomorrow, hoping I'm not too exhausted after the hike when I get home. Going out for dinner with friends in the evening, but I really hope to squeeze in a few hours. Really need to get cracking on these. Haven't gotten any further today, just got home. Starting to stress for real now. The decals will take long, as the aftermarket ones (Aztec) needs a long time in water.

Sounds like a fun social day tomorrow Sissel. Press on, you are doing very well with these builds, I really struggle to build more than one kit at a time!

It was awesome, and summer has arrived again. The next days will be nice and warm as well.
I did get a bit of work done this afternoon, without stressing. But didn't go without problems.

Picture will speak for itself.
Lovely accident, clumsy me !"#&)(=&%!"=(¤#/ !! Certainly am not getting an extra sheet! What I did to fix this was replace it with the decal to go on right fuselage side, so that side will be without a decal. But better there than on wing.

Image

More work done on the Dominican. Some more repaint to be done. Luckily this doesn't have lots of decals and am dropping most stencils. Made a new 'antenna' as well as it doesn't have the standard aerial.

Image

Also put a few decals on the Nicaraguan, and got all props and exhausts on. One decal left to go on the Cuban. I do fancy the look of the Nicaraguan! Will be colorful with the large wing decals on. The stencils on these are so tiny that I have decided to drop all but two. Feels rather good!

Looking good Sissel - that decal must have annoyed you a lot though! I would have stomped around the modelling room
