Re: Chip's Pair of Aces
Cheers Mark.
Both have now been primed and started to get a bit of colour on them
The P51D is all over silver with a blue nose:
The P51B has a silver bottom with green top (which is still wet in the photo):
although I have used HU30 as per the instructions I think it looks too dark so once dry I will overspray with a coat of Olive to match my P47-D Thunderbolt from the Wild Weather GB.

Re: Chip's Pair of Aces
All the painting (including the inevitable touch up's) is now complete:
My next step will be to decal the P51B and get that one completed before tackling the P51D.

Re: Chip's Pair of Aces
Managed to complete the first one.
P51D Mustang as flown by John C. Meyer, 487th Fighter Sqn., 352nd Fighter Group, USAAF 8th Air Force:
P51B has had the decals applied, I just need to do a coat of matt varnish and unmask her to complete it.

Re: Chip's Pair of Aces
Second one now complete.
P51B Mustang as flown by Henry Brown, 354th Fighter Sqn., 355th Fighter Group, USAAF 8th Air Force:
The decals were slightly out of register for this one, which is annoying and something I may deal with at a later date.

Re: Chip's Pair of Aces
They both look great, Chip. I especially like your P-51B in those colors.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...
