Mustang Mk III RAF No. 19 Squadron

Post by Narayan »

Greetings!

I have a Hasegawa Mustang Mk. III 'RAF Combo' for which I'm using one towards the 617 Squadron group build and the other for this.

No progress as yet. I'm still working on the 617 GB but I hope to make a start on this one at some point this weekend.

AK A looks intriging. Good luck with this.

I haven't been able to give this one much attention so far due to the 617 Squadron group build I'm also taking part in.

I have the office put together and the fusalage is almost ready to be put together.

Nice steady progress there mate, these P-51's from Hasegawa just fit together nicely. Looking forward to this one coming together.
Best Regards

The Hasegawa kits do seem to fit together very nicely but this one need some filling on either side of the fusalage connecting to the wings.

So this is where it is at.

Underside is painted getting ready for the topside. I'm going to try something new for me here. Humbrol Acrylics.

Looking good so far Narayan - how did you get on with the Humbrol acrylics?

I tried out something new here. Acrylics. I'm quite happy with the results so far.

This was last night. So this one is touch and go.

Well that was close. The aircraft I chose to do in the end was from the Royal Air Force No. 19 Squadron, May 1944. I found the attached image from a site called World War 2 in Color. Can anyone spot the minor flaw in that title?

Image

Mine is not in that picture though.

the kit went together quite nicely. I made a major schoolboy on the canopy though. A bit of 'frosting' at the front. Anyway. Here we go:

I like the shadow on this pic.
