Lancfan's RAF Mustang IVa finale *** FINISHED ***
Well I did get hold of one for the princely sum of £5.99 (not as it was marked in the price sticker) and this will be built as KM124 (the other) GA-S of 112 Sqdn RAF in Italy 1945. When my RAF mkIII is ready for paint I will put it to one side and bring this model up to the same state and then paint them both together as they each wear the same colours.

Re: Lancfan's RAF Mustang IVa finale
The interior is painted up and the cockpit assembly is complete with side bars and straps added to the seat.
This aeroplane was a mk IVa which means that the kit propeller being a cuffed Hamilton unit is wrong, on the left is the kit part before conversion into an Aeroproducts propeller and on the right is the finished item ready to be fitted.
The fuselage and wings are now joined together, when this glue is dry the wing will be attached, followed by the tailplanes and flaps along with a few other choice parts when the model will then be ready for primer later this evening.

You are indeed the Mustang Hero!
You need to change your nick from Lancfan to Stangfan now
And quick you are too, great start.

Re: Lancfan's RAF Mustang IVa finale
The model was first primed in a sparingly applied thin wash of Revell Aqua 76 grey.
When the primer had dried the final colours were then sparingly applied with thinned acrylics starting with the undersurfaces in Revell 76, the top surfaces came next with Humbrol 106 and the disruptive was applied in Revell 68. The next step is to apply the serials and then gloss varnish where needed for the decals, applying those when the varnish has dried.

My God, three days and you're at that stage. Impressive, and it looks great. You're almost blitzing these, David.
