Sign-up and Chat

Post by JohnRatzenberger »

A continuation of the original sign-up topic in GB Chat.

This GB is for all the "vehicles" -- land or sea -- that support the fighting men and "vehicles".

It starts Saturday, 1 June, wherever you are, and ends Sunday, 30 June, wherever you are.

Your GBL, lancfan, will fill in any other requirements.

I'm in with the Bushmaster (1/35). If that won't work I have several 1/72-76 kits I can sub.

I am starting off with a 1/35 Italeri Kubelwagen, with additional engine detail. I have a couple of others in the stash to fit the bill if time allows.

What I want to do is/are (fill in the blank from below) but it is/they are resin and more than I have time for, I am afraid.
- one of my several 1/35 bulldozers,
- 1/35 Mack NO
- 1/35 Autocar 8144 Tractor-Wrecker
- 1/35 Crusader Gun Tractor conversion
- 1/35 Diamond T 969 Wrecker
- 1/35 Latil TAR or Pearce Arrow 2-ton Truck
- 1/35 T-2/M-31 conversion

Sigh ....

So, what probably will be my victim is the Bedford Gun Tractor from the Airfix Bofors because I need it for my Milicast Bofors ....

But, who knows .... there are other options ....

I will start with the Revell/MB Leyland Retreiver from the Monty's Caravan set and continue with a scratchbuilt idea I have thought about for some time but would fit here perfectly and if there is time for something else- I have a few options in the stash.

That was a good price- the JB/Airfix 1/76 military vehicles are really good models.

With any luck, I'll be able to get the Austin K2 Ambulance out of the Airfix RAF Emergency set and start within the next couple of days. I'll be using the kit parts mostly (rather than the Wee Friends wheels and suspension upgrade), but I might have a go at the interior. I think a desert version, a la Ice Cold in Alex.
