Well, I finished the framework like the model pix shown, then I noticed that on the boxart and in some pix the top seemed to extend past the windshield. Although if you put the Airfix kit together the front of the top mates to the windscreen ?

Whatever, I decided to re-do mine to extend slightly forward and to use the canvas effect on the kit as a partial guide - I winged it otherwise.

So here we are, needing to dry and get a bit of clean-up ....

while I think about why I felt I had to go down this rabbit hole and what I should do next .... given that time is not waiting for me ....

Looks better with a primer coat to cover it up ....

Image

I decided my "back story" was this was a UK vehicle sent off to the desert and repainted there; I know the green isn't right (it's Vallejo UK Bronze Green primer) but it'll mostly be covered anyway. The photograph indicates I need better lighting in my spray booth, but I've fixed all that up. Hopefully some Portland Stone tomorrow; not sure if a Caunter scheme would be appropriate, I need to check dates and such ....

Not sure how much canvas I will get on - I am thinking the cab cover at a minimum, followed by the crew cover, and all sides open. Good news is that I can do paint, decals, add some equipment and call it done, even without the covers ....

Change of clothing ....

Image

Darn thing is so small and light, it came loose from the tape and blew off the spray stand, breaking on of the frames .... all fixed, and drying now. Although a 'Caunter' scheme could be justified, I think I better not take the time ....

The color looks odd here, but it's OK - maybe it'll show better in later picture ...

I will be a DNF - I got nothing done this weekend at all until late this evening when I got the tires half painted, the seats and frame painted, and some wash on various places .... I shall try for more until the final bell is rung, but with granddaughter due in Tuesday time is even more limited ....
