I quite agree they are simple kits but have enough detail to look good built straight out of the box and are addictive

I have to say that the one piece clear cab is really one of the better modelling innovations that O have seen - imagine how something like that could have spiced up many of the older 1/76 kits...I might have to see if I can smuggle one of these in next week...
Please critique my posts honestly i.e. say what you think so I can learn and improve...

I can't make up my mind on the gulf war sand or non tactical yellow . The other option I like is artic white.

Slight boob made today. I gave the fuel bowser a coat of white as a base coat and thought this paints not drying? Then discovered I have painted it gloss white. Dhooooooooooooo

A bit of luck the gloss white has made a great base for the yellow, this is it after just one coat of Tamiya flat Yellow.

Chris the trick is a good white undercoat followed by several light coats. As I'm using an airbrush and acrylic paint, I can lay down a light coat and by the time the first coat is on, its dry enough to lay down the next coat. So in one session I can lay down three or four light coats that give it a solid yellow Finnish.

I will leave this for an hour then repeat the process again.

I have seen some people use a light pink undercoat as it tends to give a richer deeper yellow, but I've not tried that yet.

Vallejo light sand primer is an excellent base for yellow.

Nice work, this fuel bowser should look good.

I'm glad I picked the yellow option as it shows up the detail, I think a coat of Humbrol clear followed by a pin wash should bring out the detail even more.

Very nicely done. Bright yellow is tough to make look right, but you certainly succeeded!
