At last some progress, I have got the yellow panels painted up;

followed by a couple of light coats of white on the top, and the first of the green colours on. Due to the way the camouflage works I thought it best to add the crosses before painting:

This all takes time, and there is not a lot of it about at the moment with the good weather, but I am sure I will get this finished on time.

Thanks for the comments Guys 'n' Gals. :-D

I had one of those nights where the more you try to get to sleep the less you are able to, so I got up for a couple of hours and continued with the painting:

Image

Once the second green colour was on it was so close to the first colour that I decided to have a bit of 'Artistic License' and go a shade lighter and re-paint the first colour.

Offcourse now I need to do a plane in winter camo. And I know which one. Just need to buy the kit first.
Good choice of using a more prominent second green shade. Looks great!

That looks good in the three tone camo. I think you were right to change the shades a little - the contrast is nice and striking now.

Cheers

The rest of the decals have now been made (I was two crosses short for under the wings so printed some off) and placed in position:

The aerial has also been replaced so I am calling this one finished.

It has been a fun to re-invent a messed up model, and the winter cam does seem to go well with the Spit. I wish I had more time to spray the green colours on rather than use a brush as the finish is a bit lumpy, but it will do for me.

That camo looks right at home on there, Chip, it really does! Looks far better than it did in British colours. Well done!
