Re: Sissels Little Bad Wolf
The filling looks good.
This is probably not the kit to build if you are a bit tired of modelling!
Cheers

I only bought mine after I built their P-51B - I was hoping it would be the same quality.....
Looking good, Sissel!
I'm a mostly full-time modeller put a part-time poster....

Re: Sissels Little Bad Wolf
I've heard nothing but bad things about this kit. Of course it was all AFTER I bought it. Now I see what everyone was talking about. This kit could actually be worse than the Starfix kit.
To the point someone brought up about being as bad as the Airfix Airacobra, Poppycock! The Airfix cobra is far better than this kit...
All that said its always fun to see what people can do with kits like this....

It should look good in those colours a bit like the new Airfix Dominican colours.

Re: Sissels Little Bad Wolf
It's amazing how you can spend two hours at the bench, you're doing stuff all the time, but yet it doesn't seem like you make much progress.
I therefore give you a tiny update.
Truth be told, during those two hours I also did some minor work on two other planes I'm building. But still...
I don't think I need to make any comments here!
But I will anyway. Most of you, if not all, would have corrected the wheel bay shape and doors, but I'm just too lazy.
Put some sandy color on as base/primer for yellow.
Yellow band done painted.
I also started assemblying the wheel gear, and some swearing occured. Lost a few small round fiddly parts to carpet floor, not once, but twice. I managed to find and glue them on in the end. Why didn't I take a pic of my perfect wheel gear assembly? Spot the irony here...
Th-th-th-that's all folks, thanks for watching.

Re: Sissels Little Bad Wolf
True, cause if you would start fix something you might as well fix it all, otherwise what's the point of just half fixing something? It would be easier to make a new kit out of putty as suggested earlier in this thread.Ian wrote:Not on this kit we wouldn't!Prisca wrote:Most of you, if not all, would have corrected the wheel bay shape and doors
Nose is wrong, shape, length, rudder seams too short but that could be the eyes playing up on you due to rest of kit being 'wrong'...

This kit looks worse than the Gosling...
And I certainly wouldn't bother fixing the undercarriage bays. In fact I would do it wheels up to simplify things.
Cheers

Re: Sissels Little Bad Wolf
That's a hell of a statement there Andrew, but I think you might be right! I'm sure Prisca will pull it off in her usual super style, but this is certainly a kit worth sacrificing for a fun 'wrong colours' build such as this, I'd hate to try and make an accurate Muzzie out of this kit! What were/are Revell thinking???? Just re-pop the Matchbox one and lay this one to rest.AndrewR wrote:This kit looks worse than the Gosling...
I admire your perseverance Prisca. Don't get me wrong, I love old kits (usually Airfix oldies for me) and I rarely build something new, but this is pretty bad! (the kit, not your modelling I mean)
But I know you'll make it look super!

Re: Sissels Little Bad Wolf
Thanks for the kind words, Zee. But please don't expect too much of this kit. I'm doing it very simple as I'm a bit tired of modelling. Meaning in the end it will just look as it is. Bad.
Those familiar with this kit know the propellor is too wide to fit fuselage, the diameter of nose is very slim! The prop looks funny, blades are too wide and well... yeah.. It really looks ridicilous. Reminds me of a cartoon plane!
But as 'everything' is wrong with this kit there is absolutely no need to fix the incredible weird spinner, even if it will look out of place when on!
I'm now done painting the underside. As the paint have lots of white in it, it took three layers for a full cover. Paint is still sticky, but hoping later to mask up ready for upperside colors. Just hope I get time today as I have to watch TWO football matches later. U21 European Championship Norway vs Italy, and training match a-team Norway vs. Macedonia. Needless to say I think we play utterly boring and horrible football, but the U21 team plays attractive and fun football. And now I'm stepping on delicate toes by saying when they knocked England out, I kinda enjoyed that, lots actually! Sorry folks.
Hoping to finish this pig of a kit in a couple of days.

Re: Sissels Little Bad Wolf
Started on the camo.
First coated it all with tan earth. Put on the green which needs another coat. The wing edge looks odd, I will fix that with more tan earth.
The canopy is offcourse too wide to fit the slim fuselage. Doh!
When the superglue at the antenna has dried I will add paint there as well.

Great work with this Sissel. I didn't realise the Revell P-51 was such a bad kit, bit of a Starfix from the Blue Team there by the looks!
