I only have Humdrol clear orange and I don't get on well with it. I'm 99% sure I'd make a complete mess of it. I could add some orange ink to some Klear, I suppose.....

Stick with what you know works! I use Vallejo transparent orange, which is very nice, and reliable over the top of Vallejo acrylics.

The wood effect looks good to me, and I reckon the ink & Klear mix would work out OK. I use the same to do oil stains around filler caps.

Out of interest, I have found that (believe it or not!) food colouring is the best way to 'tint' Klear, it seems to dissolve very consistently into the Klear and give a nice tinted clear coat.

Excellent work on these two Ian, that wood effect is superb mate!
