That's a wonderful result on the wooden Messie.

I only have Humdrol clear orange and I don't get on well with it. I'm 99% sure I'd make a complete mess of it. I could add some orange ink to some Klear, I suppose.....AndrewR wrote:I usually put a coat of transparent orange on top to give it the varnish effect.

Stick with what you know works! I use Vallejo transparent orange, which is very nice, and reliable over the top of Vallejo acrylics.Ian wrote:I only have Humdrol clear orange and I don't get on well with it. Re: Ians Kross-Dressing Krauts
The wood effect looks good to me, and I reckon the ink & Klear mix would work out OK. I use the same to do oil stains around filler caps.

I have a section I can try it on. I'll do that this morning then make a decision.

Re: Ians Kross-Dressing Krauts
I have a problem in that I am working nights for the next 4 nights. Don't know whether or not to take these with me and work on them in the office. Tempting......

And the underside.
Undercarriage added to the Albatros.

Plenty left to do though!

Re: Ians Kross-Dressing Krauts
Out of interest, I have found that (believe it or not!) food colouring is the best way to 'tint' Klear, it seems to dissolve very consistently into the Klear and give a nice tinted clear coat.Ian wrote:I only have Humdrol clear orange and I don't get on well with it. Excellent work on these two Ian, that wood effect is superb mate!
