You can't handle the squiggles! - COMPLETE

Post by Ian »

No, it's not some new nasty tropical disease! Just a raid into the decal bank.
I've had a Revell Mirage on the bench for a while. I had issues with the 'Eye of the Tiger' decals that came with the kit and I was never going to be happy with it. Whilst I was rummaging through my old decals looking for something for my B-17 I came across some Japanese meatballs left over from a Ki-115 Tsurugi. It was 1:48 but what the hell!

I sanded the mirage and gave the uppers a couple of coats of silver. Once dry I drank 6 cans of red bull and tried to keep my hand still while holding a brush!

I can't show you any pictures as when I switched on my camera it switched itself off again.
The batteries are charging.

I think I'll go and put some paint on the underside.

Wow that looks amazing! Excellent result Ian!

Next time you might get away with three cans of Redbull if you mix them with vodka. Vodkabull! :ha:

Now there's a drink I haven't had for a few years! Need to do some interweb searches now as I didn't keep the kit instructions. I may need to base this on a different aircraft type and hand paint some Japanese writing on the tail.

I'm not really into squiggles, but that's some great squiggle painting.

Now that is something else, great idea for an alternative scheme. After 6 cans of Red Bull I'd be climbing the walls and unable to put brush to model!

That looks brilliant! Squiggle-tastic! Red Bull wouldn't work for me, I need something, er, 'stronger' for a steady hand, something from Scotland maybe?
