Cheers, John!

I might also go with the Frog F.4 if I finish the PJ in time - the PJ doesn't have a lot of parts.

I'm not sure that I'm in yet, as I'm a bit tired and jaded from the last few builds (Gosling GB anyone  ).

If I do anything, it'll be the Frog F.4, wheels up, in High Speed Silver, with markings for 1 Sqn RAF from Xtradecals.

Cheers

Sure! You be GB leader..... :ha:

The Frog 4 is an easy build. What could possibly go wrong? ;-)

At least there are no floats to rig, unless I so something really silly

616 Squadron EE216, flying Officer 'Dixie' Dean who got the first V1 kill, flying alongside the V1 and tipped it over after his cannon failed to fire.

OK a perennial question....

Who is going to be painting their Meteor in High Speed Silver? If so, what paint/s are you going to use?

I know there's a long thread on Britmodeller about this, but I'm looking for some fresh inspiration, as I think mine will have to be High Speed Silver, but very faded, almost light grey. Any ideas?

Oh and before it's suggested, Hannants are out of their Xtracolour HSS, and it's enamel anyway and I'd prefer acrylic.

You could go with Hu11 and give it a rub down with a middle-grade micomesh pad, maybe a 3200 or 3600 to take the shine off and give it a faded/abraded look

These aircraft would have been clean and tidy, they would not have looked worn. A better method would be after you have coated it in your silver of choice and applied your decals just give it a coat or two of matt varnish to kill the shine dead.

In the past I have used Tamiya Flat Aluminum XF-16, it sprays great with good coverage.
