David.
The one I'm doing stood outside in all weathers for decades as a Gate Guardian' or rather Hospital Guardian in this particular case, so it became very faded and worn indeed. So much so that in it's late 'Guardianage' it was repainted with a camo scheme so it would look better. It's now in Malta restored back to it's original clean High Speed Silver. But I want to do it as I remembered it as a child, a 'faded silver wonder' :-D

Who is going to be painting their Meteor in High Speed Silver? If so, what paint/s are you going to use?

I know there's a long thread on Britmodeller about this, but I'm looking for some fresh inspiration, as I think mine will have to be High Speed Silver, but very faded, almost light grey. Any ideas?

Oh and before it's suggested, Hannants are out of their Xtracolour HSS, and it's enamel anyway and I'd prefer acrylic.
In the past I have used Tamiya Flat Aluminum XF-16, it sprays great with good coverage.

I've also heard that Tamiya Flat Aluminium is a possibility, it looks about right on your Meteor anyway.

My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

I'm afraid I going to retire if before I start, as a week in and I haven't even had time to go to the loft to fetch a kit. I've got plenty on the go on the bench as it is.

Are the exhaust pipes on the Mk III burnt metal or camo coloured?

Today's the last day to get your Meteors done, gentlemen! If you are very close, I might be persuaded to give you an extension of a couple of days. ;-)

To those of you who have finished but not posted to the Gallery, I'll keep it open until the end of Sunday.

Cheers, Jeff. 8-) I was trying a more hands-off approach this time - I can be a bit over-controlling if I'm not careful.....

Well, the GB has officially ended - many thanks to all of you for your participation and support! As this 1947 Gloster ad says, it's been "Meteorific!"

I'll leave build threads and the Gallery open for a couple more days so you can make last minute additions and comments. Thanks again!!

Good GB, all !

I shouldn't have gotten this far behind, just too many other things happening.
