What I remember about this kit is wheels, wheels and yet more wheels

Great assembly work going on here David - good stuff with the jigs.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Work is the curse of the modelling classes!

You are a gluten for punishment! Multiple Matilda and now another Churchill! You must be seeing hordes of tiny wheels in your sleep...

Cheers shaun,
Neil- you get used to them in the end.
The bogies are now all in position and work has started on the turret, on the left is a pattern mk3 turret I keep handy and to the right is the kit turret being modified to the same state.

The suspension is complete and painted in SCC2 Service Drab, the turret has been shaped as a blank, the gun modified to match the type of 6pdr fitted to the mkIII.

I agree, there is some great work going on there David. I like the Churchill and IMHO it is a very charismatic tank.

Before the hull sides can be attached they need to be partially modified, this shot shows (top) the first
stage with the starboard side as kitted and (below) the same side with the detail removed.
Image

The track covers need reshaping (top) and the front line of the hull sponsons are at the wrong angle (lower)
and need correcting, also the front track guards need to be removed. Again all this is best done before
assembling these parts to the hull.
