Sorry for the lack of progress reports, but time is limited at the moment. I have managed to get the decals on:

For the NMF behind the exhaust I have used a piece of metal tape that I have had knocking around for quite a while. It looks more stark in the picture than for real due to the flash.

All I need to do to finish this is remove the masking, attach the canopy sections and sort out the aerials. Soon be done.

That's looking great with its decals on Chip. Good idea with the metal tape too.

Thats turned out real nice Chip, its years since I did a KP kit. Are those the original decals? If so they have survived pretty well.

I loved KP kits when I was a kid, nice thick plastic which could withstand my hacking at it and a great choice of exotic subjects.
Looking forward to seeing this one finished.

Yes they are. They were quite badly yellowed but after a couple of sunny days in the window they improved greatly. The stars were a bit out of register, but it was easy enough to cut off the excess white. The numbers were a nice idea, having a white number with separate black outline to be added as required.

Now that the UK has returned to its normal pattern for Summer weather (Rain followed by showers followed by torrential downpours  ) I have had time to complete this one:

Overall it has been a nice little kit that went together smoothly with the only need for filler being self induced.

It is my first KP kit and I would definitely build another should I come across one.

A fun build and a fun GB. Thanks for looking in.

That looks great Chip, it's a handsome Soviet fighter and the kit sounds like a decent build.
