Chris' Panther blitz **Finished**
Hi all,
This will be my first build of any kind on this forum, so please be kind
For this build I will be building a Hasegawa 1/72 Panzer Kampfwagen V Panther Ausf G (MT9:500) but it wont be OOB, I will be using a couple of aftermarket bits, namely Eduard's PE Schurtzen (22042) and an RB Models 1/72 7.5cm KwK 42L/70 (72B07) metal barrel
I will post some pictures of the kit and aftermarket bits sometime soon, though I wont be able to start the build until after the 14th Aug
Regards
Chris

You go Chris. Have you decided on the straight 24 or two 12 hour blocks for the build?

As I'm a fan of armour I think this is a great choice Chris. Unfortunately I'll probably be on my hols whilst you're building it but best of luck anyway!

Re: Chris' Panther blitz
Great to see yourself set the bar high at the straight 24hours.
I have several Blitz's under my belt and still cant make up my mind up at what's the best start time.
If you go midnight to midnight you get a couple of hours in then a good sleep followed by the rest of the day.
If you star Midday to Midday its a rush if you sleep in.
My last two Blitz were 22:00 to 22:00 and that worked well allowing for lots of sleep and build time.
The good thing is no matter what time you build someone will be awake giving you banter and support.
Good luck with the build

Hey Chris,
Glad to see you want to have a go at this, and if I'm home I will follow your blitz as best as I can.
Now an important question.. what on earth is Zimmerit the Panther?
You Brits and your strange language!
Edit: I just googled and found out.
Good luck!

Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...
Re: Chris' Panther blitz
Hi Chris. The best advise is to get everything figured out prior to start time. Even the most perfect time selection can find it's own interruptions. Study the instructions and figure out ways of skipping around while other pieces are setting up. And like everyone says, enjoy yourself. From what I read about the kit, it should not be to much of a problem.
I also will be watching the progress.

Home made Zimmerit in a blitz? brave move Chris. Shame I will miss this as I will be on my hols and we haven't got room to carry a laptop due to Mrs W's clothes supply. Best of luck!

Thanks for the advice everyone
The Zimmerit should be quite easy, here is some I did on a Airfix 1/76 King Tiger for the King Tiger GB on the ATF last year:
