Jeff's Hope I don't get "Tank"ed Blitz***Finished****
This space is reserved for my Blitz set for August 11th Sunday.
I will be breaking my long set rules on three levels. But I will not be "Kurt" about it.
1. Multiple color paint scheme.
2. Larger Scale.
3. Many parts.
As always, it will be a straight 24.
Piccies to follow.

A 1:48 Fw190? Or the Airfix 1:24 version?
I'm a mostly full-time modeller put a part-time poster....
Re: Jeff's Hope I don't get "Tank"ed Blitz
Well, let's see. "Tanked", "Kurt". Need anymore? Oh, yes, one more. Hope I don't come up "short."

Or are we talking about Kurt 'Panzer' Meyer?
Multiple colour - check ('44 onwards 3 colour scheme)
Large Scale - check (1:35)
Many parts - check (lots of wheels!)
Short - not sure. Was he short?

Re: Jeff's Hope I don't get "Tank"ed Blitz
But then the -190 A and F both had the 'short nose' and also ticks the other boxes too
Kurt Tank designed it
Multiple colour - check (lots of lovely schemes available)
Large Scale - check (1:48, 1:32 & 1:24 kits available)
Many parts - check (as per above)
Short - check (not the long-nosed D)
Tell me Jeff! I have to know!
PM me if you have to.

Re: Jeff's Hope I don't get "Tank"ed Blitz
OK. I will be building the Hobby Boss Ta-152C-something in 1/48th. So we have multiple colors, larger scale, lots of parts, short winged as opposed to the H model long wing, also a photo etch fret. Reviews show it can, no doubt, be done.
I am undecided as the decals yet. Apparently records show two were assigned to JG301 but unknown if they had the RVD bands or numerical ID painted on. Maybe they never flew due to gas shortage. My decal bank has lots of possibilities.

Great! The 11th will be a fun day, allthough I'll probably start while you're dreaming of the blitz.

Good one Jeff and best of luck with it. I'm not certain whether the 152 C model ever flew in combat. The long span H model did see limited use.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

So here is my intended victim. The Hobby Boss Ta152C-1.
The Boxart:
The Innards:
Color guide and decals:
I have read a bit about this kit and it seems that the build is pretty straight forward. 11 steps in the construction. OK, that is one hour per step.............I couldn't be so lucky. The layout is pretty well designed so I may not deviate to much from the instructions. We will see how it goes.
Historically, these aircraft have a muddied story. But those more educated than me have learned that at least two were assigned to JG301 but it is unknown if they even flew or not. It is even doubtful if they received the RVD bands (red and yellow) or any other identification. Due to lack of gas, they probably stayed parked somewhere. Also the paint scheme could have been RLM 82, RLM 83 with a mottle of Brown-Violet over the Sky color so that is the route I will take. It is anyone's guess
So I intend to off and running around 0600-0700EDT. 1000-1100GMT (I think) So sleep in and enjoy that first cuppa. I may have a post by then.

Looks to be a nice kit, Jeff. Especially with the PE bits as well.

Re: Jeff's Hope I don't get "Tank"ed Blitz
Isn't that an unusual amount of parts for a HB kit?
I see it's age suggestion is 14+, which means you are just qualified for it. How lucky is that?!

Your funny. But you are also right. I just squeaked by on the age (in dog years). My mom is allowing me to use sharp instruments on this one.
I'm scared

Oh dear, I hope she told you to be very careful. Sharp objects are dangerous, you know.
But you'll be fine.
