We've had our share of rain this summer as well. But not been as bad as it usually is. Atleast a few hours on the beach is tempting. It's only 2.20pm anyways :)

I've been struggling with the fit for a while. Supeglue led wont move, and it's just a tiny little bit too tall for upper body to 'snatch' down. So I've used superglue, spilled, got all over me fingers, while holding this thing pressing it down for what seemd like forever. When it was more dry I put the clamps on. Will leave it like that for a bit.

This little thing sure is a cutie. Shame the Revell yellow dries more slowly than Vallejo. It will need atleast two more layers and micromeshing down inbetween.

Am stressing a bit, but don't know why. Beach, blitz, or both? What to do, what to do.. If it was a tad warmer, decision would be easy. 8-)

That is what I will do, James.

Here's where I'm at now. Am taking a wee little break. Need to get outside and enjoy the sun.

The fit of this HB kit is perfect. I just hope the led mass wont force open the fuselage. But it looks good now.
Dang, just noticed I painted the interior wrong. Will be fixed later.

That's the trouble with the August Blitz - the weather is too good!

Good start, Sissel!

Thanks, Paul.

It became a rather short break with a bit of relaxing in the sun chair while slurping an icey lolly. 8-)

Painting the underside I find cracks that need filling. I will try with some wood glue later. While waiting for paint to become sticky free I'll have another icey lolly as I've just had dinner leftovers from yesterday.
Mind the tiny spinner! :-D

Thanks Jeff, but I dunno if you're referring to the model, food or drinks.

I ended up with a real Pilsner and a sunny bun. Am waiting for putty to dry, so I can go over with sky blue again.
Just realised I'm spending more time off than on the bench during this blitz. I'm really happy it's a small and easy kit. I blame the weather!!

State of play. Need only darker blue now. Some fix ups required. I will be putting on the wheel gear after decalling.
Then there's the antiglare panel and a few other things. Getting closer now.
One of my fears are the masking tape was put on the yellow too soon, I feel paint peel.

Put a coat of darker blue on. Thinned it too much so there's been some paint run. When dry it will have another coat. I also might need another sky blue coat to make sure it covers the panel lines properly.

I have to be honest and say this kit is a little boring. At the same time it's very relaxing working on a such a few-parts-kit, especially today.

That is coming together so well, I love the two-tone blue scheme.

I am mighty impressed with your fridge. Most people waste shelf space with food. :ha:

It is looking good.

I have the same kit though thinking of painting mine up as one of Tamils Tigers. While not a fan of them, I do like to do aircraft of small airforces and there are some good pics out on the web.

If you do hit the beach, those would make completely different Blitz pics then we normally see. Just saying.

SWEET. Nice work Sissel. Your build is tempting me to get one of these.

All the best.

Thanks guys. No beach time today. Been relaxing in the garden instead.
I thought I was smart with using a drying retarder with the darker blue, so the leftovers from first coat wasn't a waste when doing a second coat. Problem now however, is it just will not dry!

Kit is lovely, if it wasn't for the led the fit would be perfect. For a quick, easy and different build, this is highly reccommended.

While I still wait for the paint to dry, I made a quick start on one of my other blitzbau subjects, the new-tool Me 109. Not a blitz this one, but will be a fast build I hope to complete in a few days. Pics to follow in my workbench thread, but here is one.

Image

Plan on the Zlin: When blue is dry, mask and paint anti-glare, when dry, future coat entire plane, then decals and undercarriage. I was hoping to be done before bedtime, but not so sure now, depends on the drying time of the paint and future. Either way I might have to get up early tomorrow.
