Positively excellent. A real keeper.

Well done, Vandal. That's a great looking model. Nice green!
The only think that stands out to me are the oddly sized tyres. The starboard one looks like a bicycle tyre when compared to the port one - but as this was a Blitz it's completely forgivable.
Good job!

Thanks people :)

Ian, the odd asymmetric wheels are a feature of the kit. If you look at the other shot earlier you'll see that the left wheel is the same.

Now, I'm afraid I have to confess that on my rush at the end the wheel bay doors were shoved out of sight and it wasn't til later I realised I had left them off. I've only just arrived home and attached them straight away. I must beg for clemency in considering this build still finished within the blitz. It was an annoying oversight :frown:

Here's a final shot with the doors now attached.

Outstanding. Great looking racer.

I had not noticed the wheel covers so I think you got away with that one.

Anyone who can make the Airfix Comet look decent deserves applause.

And a Standing Ovation for doing it in a Blitz. Great going!

Top effort and more so for a blitz...I've always liked the Comet with its Mosquito/Whirlwind-like lines but never built one...having just seen this pic from Planes, I am now seriously tempted...

Thanks for the positive words, all. I did surprise myself at getting this done in the extremely short time I gave myself. It was about 2 hours or maybe a bit more on Saturday and less than to 4 hours on Sunday.

Encouraged by my ability to make this resemble an aeroplane, I am intending to track down Black Magic and Grosvenor House and probably blitz them simultaneously one weekend so I have the complete set.

I remember this kit being a lot more horrible the first time I built it. While it was certainly a dog this time around, it wasn't quite as canine as I was expecting.
