Thank you, Jeff, Alan and Shaun for popping in.
I will see if I manage a layer of blue before hopping to bed. I'm glad I started this 6.40pm, which means I have all day tomorrow.

Re: Sissels Fourth Cat ** Started **
Have put one layer on and it seems to be enough.
I am disappointed though. I thought Revells Lufthansa blue would be darker, exactly like their Lufthansa. Hopefully it dries darker, and picture taken with blitz.
Odd enough, I first painted the canopy frames, then the armament, I hadn't stirred it properly and it looked like Lufthansa, dark and nice.
But when I was coating the entire plane I made sure to stir well. Guess I shouldn't have.
Tomorrow I will klear coat it. Then put armament on, decals, decals on propellor and decals on the rest. Will also need to repaint canopy frames.
I'm tired and saying goodnight with this...

Off to a great start Sissell. The blue looks fine to my dodgy vision I'll pop in from time to time tomorrow - sure beats working

Its looking nice.
My Revell Lufthansa blue enamel was about the same shade as Humbrol's 15 Midnight blue.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Looks good so far. I have one of these started but am whiffing it into a RN version used during the Korean War. Kind of stopped when I got to the stripes.

I don't want to!splash wrote:Time to get up and back to the bench.
Just woke up with a headache, am very tired and not set for modelling at all.
That's what I was hoping, for it to be like H15. But it's brighter. Quite the difference between Lufhansa enamel and acrylic then.fredk wrote:My Revell Lufthansa blue enamel was about the same shade as Humbrol's 15 Midnight blue.
Gonna see if I can eat something now...

Re: Sissels Fourth Cat ** Started **
Okay.. so I finally dragged myself to the bench. You know those photos roaming FB? Animated pic of how a woman looks before coffee. Well that's me today, on my second mug now.
Just prior to decalling. And look! Paint is darker today, and perhaps the future coat darkened it too. Looks just right to me now.
I decided to be smart for once and put the long stripes on first. When this side has dried properly, I will do the other side. Not put on anymore in between. The reason is simple enough, if I mess up I can always go with the other scheme. Once I've got these long ones on, rest of the stripes shouldn't be a problem.
The first went on nicely, apart from a tiny little bend at the back which I couldn't smooth out. Put lots of microsol on.
Here's a song from Stratovarious, a band I haven't listened to in ages. I first heard about them from my brother probably 15 years ago.

Morning Sissel. I liked the way Revell broke up the striping and it fits nicely. Hope you get to feeling better.
