Re: Sign-Up and Chat
I can't express how sorry I am about Ted Taylor passing away. Ted was the first person I got in contact with who worked at Lesney for the Matchbox line of model kits. He contributed a lot in a series of interviews to get the information needed to launch the Matchboxkits.org site in a proper way.
Great idea to dedicate this group build to honour him!
In this group build I plan to build a 1973 PK-19 Mig-21. It will be a naked build.
The kit was ready and waiting for a chance to get built for quite some time now.
Somehow I never got round to actually doing that.
As a tribute to Ted this is a good time to put some other stuff aside and get the knife and glue out!
I remember pictures of Ted sitting at the "Office". It always looked 'busy'.
Here's a similar setting as a starter for this tribute:
Reinhold
P.S.: I hope somebody will take the effort of keeping Ted's modelworks site alive.
There's a lot of nice build and reference material in there.

Hi Reinhold. Glad to have you with us. There's a lot of nice material here for your site. I'm sure everyone will be happy for you to use their photos.

So very good to see you here, my friend! (Maybe between the both of us we can change the forum name to UA&MMF! )
I looked at Ted's very impressive work on his site, but didn't realize he was involved with the Matchbox kits... would have so liked to have know him...
Cheers,

Folks,
At the moment, the stats are: 14 completions and 9 days to go. Can we crack 20 completions by the end? I think we can!
Congratulations to everyone that's finished to date! The "completions" thread shows a diverse range of subjects and modelling styles, which is exactly what this Tribute GB is about. Please keep supporting us slowcoaches, though, as we approach the final whistle.
regards,
Martin

I need to get a pot of H83. Mine has dried up and the Panzer still needs another coat.
It WILL be finished on time!

All being well mine will be completed on time Martin - maybe without the figures though unless I can make them look something like human beingsMartin R wrote:Folks,

That'd be great, Shaun! Don't worry, though; if the rest of us don't finish, I'm guessing the world won't end . . . but then again, why take the risk?ShaunW wrote:All being well mine will be completed on time Martin - maybe without the figures though unless I can make them look something like human beingsMartin R wrote:Folks,

Re: Sign-Up and Chat
I think I can finish the Norseman in time. It'll be tight though. Not so much the parts - there are only a few left to add - but getting the paint on. If I can't get some airbrushing time, I may need to break out the paintbrushes....
