The wing fabric detail was pretty deep on this one. Looks like you have taken care of that. Back in the day, when I was "un-clean", I was quick to dump that kit. Not to long ago I restored the kit back in my stash. I will go and sin no more.

Remember Paul, no metallic weathering on the fabric areas. :ha:

Hi Paul,

Glad to see you're building a Matchbox Norseman!

When I built mine here:

http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=19&t ... t=Norseman;

I have to say that I didn't come across too many problems. The only difficulty I had was with the float struts and since you're not doing yours on floats you won't come up against those.

I was lucky to have mine moulded in grey plastic only :) And I must confess that I didn't go to the trouble of skimming my wings with filler - though the amount of yellow paint I used, I think it's probably done a similar job :ha:

Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
Regards,

Always keep your parts oil-free - that's my motto......

Anyways, on the bench, I've started some sub assemblies, and have done more work on the wings.

I had to mix my own US Interior Green - it's a bit too bright, I think, but it won't show much once the fuselage is glued together. This is the third fill and sand repetition on the wings, and they'll need a further one to cover up the last blemishes and uneven-ness. Then, I'll add a coat of OD to the fuselage sides before fitting the windows and closing up the fuselage. That'll be a job for the weekend.

A quick non-update. I got nothing done on this over the weekend - a combination of crappy weather and other commitments. More progress this week, I hope...

Woohoo - progress....

Got a coat of primer sprayed on this morning, which highlighted some flaws in my filling and sanding, so back out with the filler...again.......

This arvo, I've sanded back the filler, which revealed some minor flaws.....out with the filler again.....

Having said that, I did get the windows stuck into place. I'll mask them prior to putting n the topcoats of course. I'm hoping to get the fuselage together tomorrow.

lol!

Just finished what I THINK will be the final round of sanding on this one. Looks pretty smooth now, with barely a hint of fabric sag any more....

Well done for your persistence, Paul. My money says you've still missed a bit.

Hmmm, thought I'd updated this one. Come to think of it, I thought I'd taken photos, but I didn't do that either...

Fuselage is together and the wings look OK. Next step is to mask the windows, then add the wings and u/c, and give her a coat of primer.

...and the photographic proof of that last statement:

Still need to put the U/C on. A bit of filler at the seams, but not too bad. Once that's all sanded down, a quick trip to the spray booth for a coat of primer, then I'll tidy up and see where things stand.

Ugh. Somehow, the port wing on this model also cracked it's seam, but I think I've repaired it. I had popped one of the windows, but I was able to get it glued back in place with minimal fuss, thankfully. Got the u/c legs on yesterday. Wasn't able to airbrush - far too wet outside again - that's the third weekend in a row when we've had long periods of rain....so, no primer coat. Still, I've three more weekends.

This one IS going to get finished. I like the scheme, and I'll be darned if this one beats me as well....

These kits are giving you hell in this GB Paul. I hope you can beat this one into submission!
