Oh, and the windscreen is a terrible fit....

This model seems to be attempting to make you have it. I wouldn't take that if I were you. Keep battling away and I'm sure it'll come good in the end. Some kits are just sent to try us

Sounds like you are having some troubles there. I built this kit a few years back and went for the ambulance scheme, I know for my next one to wash the plastic as the paint didn't take to it and cracked everywhere. Shame as it was a nice build.

Hi Paul,

I also built this kit some time ago and it was a pretty nasty one to put together. I had to reinforce the wing joints with copper wire pins after they cracked twice...!

Also trying to get the engine pods aligned was quite a problem.

Just to let you know that's not you having problems with this kit... it's the kit having problems with everyone !!! :ha:

Cheers,
Eugenio

I've thought about this long and hard for the past 24 hours, but I have decided to pull out of this build. The final straw was the windscreen fogging up after I superglued it in place, because it's an awful fit and I wanted to fill and sand. I dislike withdrawing from GBs at the best of times, but this one....I hope Ted would understand...

Frankly, life's too short to waste on lost causes. I'm beginning to get really tired of filling and sanding all my models, so once I'm done with the Norseman and Harvard, I'm going to make a bloody Tamiya kit......

You'll still need to fill and sand, Paul. Bad news with the Skyservant. It has put up a fight hasn't it?

A great shame this has crashed and burned Paul but I understand your frustration. In my experience it's a fact of modelling life that all kits require some filler and some kits require more filler than others - although that could just be down to my ineptitude as a builder of course

I feel your pain, sorry to hear you've had such a hard time, it's not easy when a model fights you.

Paul,

I've just seen this. As others have said, don't sweat it. Some you win and some you lose; it's a hobby after all.

Even though it's bl**dy frustrating when a kit fights you. ;-)

regards,

Martin

Leave it a while to mature, like cheese! I sometimes mature models for about 25 years, and then have finished it! :-)
