I'm beginning to have an interest in AFVs again.

Not started yet, guys. Hols and work have gotten in the way, that's why I've been a bit quiet recently.
Night shifts end tomorrow so the plan is to get the Alpha completed then make a start on this.

A Mrs. Ian free day gave me the chance to start the kit. I did, of course complete the list of jobs I had been left first. These consisted of -

a) Empty and re-fill the dishwasher.
b) Clear the patio
c) Weed the patio
d) Weed down the side of the house
e) Weed the drive.

It was so hot outside this morning I literally had sweat dripping off my face!

Work done, showered, glue!
Not a lot done but at least I have made a start!


Hopefully more tomorrow. But then the little Ians are back at school and Mrs. Ian is off so I suspect shopping is on the cards.....

That list of jobs sounds a bit like my Sunday was Ian. Still, it's great you've made a start and the Panzer II comes with an excellent dio base - the bases make such a difference to these Matchbox AFV kits and were a great idea.

That base tends to steer you towards a desert finish. Looking good so far Ian.

Well the painting instructions give you both the sand and grey options and both say 'Africa', so I have the choice.
I prefer Panzers in 'Panzer grey'.
So I'll paint it sand!

I've managed to spend some time building and painting over the last couple of days, which was nice.

Wheels are now on and painted. I'll paint the tyres later and add the return rollers after weathering.


Hull top has been assembled and had a few spots of filler.


As has the turret.


And the display has had some colour thrown at it!


Plenty still to do but it's going well so far.

Cripes! I have been very remiss in giving updates on this build, haven't I?
Well the base is now pretty much done. Just need to add some dust. The Panzer itself has the main road painted ready for weathering. The hull and turret are complete and painted. I need to complete the chassis and tracks before I can then add the upper hull and start weathering that.

I will take some photos later. I promise!
