Draken's Civilized Cobra - *** FINISHED ***
Hi everyone,
here's my choice for this GB:
it has only two sprues in the classic Matchbox two colors (that in this case were actually a good choice for an unpainted model )
the small decal sheet looks usable:
but I will be using this Microscale sheet:
to obtain a model of this NASA Cobra:
This is all for now, I hope to start working on this white serpent during the weekend !!
Thanks for looking.
Cheers,
Eugenio

Re: Draken's Civilized Cobra
Now what would NASA need a Cobra gunship for? Who cares, it's a good look!
I'm a mostly full-time modeller put a part-time poster....

Like others have said, never seen this scheme before, it looks good and will stand out nicely. Watching with interest.

Looks like you get slightly more in the ol' 'pit than with most Matchboxes.

Re: Draken's Civilized Cobra
Happy to see you guys like my choice !
I do like unusual paint schemes and I think this one fits the Cobra which is a pretty elegant helicopter.
You're right Martin, these are the cockpit parts (plus the two control sticks):
not bad for a 40 years old kit !!!
this is the cockpit tub assembled, I just closed the front with a little piece of plasticard:
I did some work on the seats, shortened them and made plasticard cushions (I want my pilots to be comfy ) I wiil add seat belts made with masking tape.
The holes on the weapons supports (this is a civilized Cobra right ? ) and the slot in the chin turret were filled up:
The cockpit assembly as well as the interior received a coat of primer:
as well as the propeller blades, which also got the tips sprayed insignia yellow
This is all for now, thanks for looking!!
Cheers,
Eugenio

An unusual colour scheme.
Looking good so far, nice attention to detail
I shall be watching this with interest, I'm thinking about adding a 'Huey' to my stash
