We're getting there! Just have to paint the darned thing - hopefully, tomorrow - and a few little odds and sods and she'll be complete. The yellow trainer bands will be decalled on, rather than painting - I've run out of time for such niceties...

Should then be able to get the decals on Sunday morning, before we go to an event in the arvo. Any finishing touches can be added Monday, after you've all gone to bed, but will still be the 30th by my clocks....

Nice plan, eh? ;-)

Well, not quite to plan...

I didn't realize I was short of MM Metalizer Aluminium, so I had to thin down what I had left and It didn't cover as well as usual. I'll have to add a second coat this morning, and get the decals on tonight after we get back. I can tidy up the anti-glare panel at the same time...

I'm also not happy with my seam work on this one, so I'll be using old Modeldecal decals rather than the Kits at War I'd planned to use - they are for the same machine by coincidence, so that aspect won't be lost. I'll save the new decals for an Academy or Hobbyboss kit if I acquire one in the future. I do pride myself on seam eradication, but I just didn't do a good job on this kit... :-|

Still it looks pretty fine fom here Paul. I'd be more than happy with that so far. I will be getting on with seam eradication later today on my Testors one if I'm going to have it done by Monday.

All the best.

We just got back from our day out, so no painting today. I might be able to get a quick session in during lunch tomorrow...

Do you need an extension, Paul?

I think you're doing a great job Paul :) It would've been all too easy to 'throw in the towel' and I really admire you for sticking with it!

Sorry that you ran short of paint, that's really bad luck :frown:

As for your seams, I think they look fine and considering that you've lost you're mojo, I think you can feel really proud of yourself for persevering. Keep up the great work :)

As for an extension, I have no probs with that.

I will need at least one extra day, please mods. Even if I can get home at lunch to paint, it'll need to dry overnight, so decals couldn't be applied until tomorrow. Everything else is done - just needs a second coat of paint, and decals.....

I did cut some MM Steel into what remains of the Alu - the colour will be slightly darker, but I'll put that down to weathering... ;-)

Well, I for one am granting you one extra day to finish this off. We're humans after all, aren't we. ;-)

I wouldn't want you to rush a finish. Take your time, mate. :)

Thanks, mods! I just put another coat of metal on her, and that seemed to go well. I'll check when I get home this arvo, but I should be able to put decals on this evening. Either way, I'll want to check that all went well there before declaring a finish.

Not the best photos of not the best model, but it is proof that I am calling this done. There's a few small touch-ups to really finish it properly - I'm not happy with the rear fuselage band, and there are a few small paintwork defects I need to fix, plus, I need a clear coat over the decals - but it is essentially complete:

This is not the best T-6 kit available by any means, and I am glad that I have the same scheme available to me for when I do another Harvard from the Academy or Hobbyboss kits.

Thanks to Sissel and Greg for modding this GB!
