Sissel builds a Norwegian ** Finished **

Post by Sissel »

This will be my build. To be started when I'm back from holiday in London, probably mid-september due to other projects.
Academy kit with Vingtor's great decals. I've built the Airspeed Oxford trainer (Novo) in this scheme, and I very much enjoyed it.
I will also build the Academy Storch alongside the Texan, same scheme.

Oooooooh nice, thats the kit I've got hopefully winging it way to me through the post. What do you think of it - does it look a nice kit? I can't decide on what scheme to do, either the RoK or USAF...mind you the Norwegian sceme looks lovely - can't wait to see it come together, you'll do a great job I'm sure.

Regards

Stuart

I haven't opened the box yet, and will not till I come home from London, so no idea about the content. No more modelling before I leave. Will be too busy with my new bike (pickup today) and other stuff. And I'm going to visit the kittens. :)

It sure is. I also believe the blue is darker, that it have faded here. Or it could just be the light.
I have a note somewhere about the FS number and/or the closest match in Vallejo.

That looks like a Great scheme Sissel. Very reminiscent of Matchbox models.

All the best.

Hi Prisca, hope you're enjoying yourself in London (I defy anyone not to ;-) ).

Looking forward to seeing your build when you get started.

As Gregers said, the blue and yellow looks very much like the MB kits and is always a bright addition to any model display and I like your choice of decals!

I've got a Matchbox Siskin moulded in almost the same colours.

Glad you like my choice of markings, Miss-Stang. I love the blue and yellow Norwegian trainers. ;-)
I can't say anything about Matchbox models as I've never built one. But from what I've seen on the forum, their moulds are quite colorful.

Was hoping to start on Wednesday, but got stuff to do and hope to complete some of the many unfinished models splattered across the bench first.
I am strange like that, can't stand having unfinished models 'hanging over me'. So will likely be starting this in the busy weekend if I get time, or next week. There's plenty of time left so I'm quite relaxed... yet...

Hi Sissel.
Looking forward to watching the build. Like Tim said, the Matchbox Siskin is in just about the same shades of Blue and Yellow. I have three of them in the stash. You should try a Matchbox kit some time. They are pretty good, especially for their age, Just sparse interiors let them down.

All the best.

Greg

Yeah, I might get hold of a Matchbox kit some time. I've built a Novo (ex-Frog) kit once.
Sparse interior just means to me that there's less to stuff up. Probably why I really enjoyed my Novo build. :ha:
