Thanks. It's a real joy, and surprised at how quick it went together. Allthough it's fun and rewarding in the end with those kits you need to work on in form of fit, putty, sanding, adjusting... I always find a good fitting kit a real joy and pleasure, especially these days.

My brother first introduced me to metal and rock many, many years ago. Back in those days where I liked the worst possible music: techno and boy bands!!

I first thought of painting mine in gun metal then dry brush with darker or lighter.
But then I saw the pics Greg posted, and then pics of the engine on this Norwegian T-6. :)

Today is a dark, stormy and rainy day. Great weather to be inside, and spend time at the workbench. Had to put the oven on for the first time since April. Ah, bless.. autumn has come. 8-)

I have given the Texan its fourth layer of yellow. And as you can see from pic below, coverage is not nearly good enough. So brushing yellow ends with a thick result and lost detail. I can live with that.
Got the wheel gear on, also the bay doors (after pic was taken). Put some small bits on that I had forgotton. And when the yellow has dried I will go for layer nr. five and hope that does it.
I also pricked away paint on the canopy pieces, but it's not looking good. I should have used my time and masked. But being the lazy modeller I am we sometimes take shortcuts that doesn't always end being a shortcut...
I've also painted a stronger blue color on the engine.

That is looking superb Sissel. Nice one, and good choice in music too.

All the best.

I've put the canopy pieces on and fit pretty much perfect. There's a minor crack which will be easily filled with paint or wood glue. The wood glue is still drying, hence the white spots.
I haven't put more yellow layers on. Enough is enough, allthough coverage could be better, it will just be a really thick mess.

I've also been working on an extended exhaust. Just used sprue and sanding pads to form it. It's not perfect, but will resemble something that looks like an exhaust, I hope. Test fitting shows it looks okay. I have cut away the little exhaust for this to fit better. I'm not convinced though. :-|
Wish I had a drill to make a hole.

Next up will be to mask yellow and paint the fuselage.

Thanks OT and Stu. :)
The fit is perfect, no issues at all.

Coated it with blue, and well.. there's not much left now. Went over with future (after pic). Just need to put cowling and exhaust on.
Tomorrow I might start decalling.

Looking great Prisca!

It's coming together really well and very quickly - must be the cognac :ha:
I like your choice in music too!

Looking forward to seeing the finished article :)

Cheers, Miss-Stang.

I've begun decalling. The white serial numbers consist of single numbers on the sheet, and there is hardly any space between them. So them being tiny is one thing, another issues is how to hold them to get them on. 16 numbers in total to put on.

I should say I've finished decalling now. Well, I thought so. Forgot the walkways. And having heard some things about Academy decals, I knew to use very hot water. Still drying from microsol. Then put on the exhaust. Saw from pictures no spinner is needed, so that wont go on.

In a while I will future coat the plane and then it's ready for a photoshoot.

Yes, they are small aren't they? I would be sure to lose 2 or 3 in the course of a decalling session!

It's finished, finito, done, no more!

Not possible to take pics in natural light (it's dark now), so apologies for the extra shine from lamp.

That looks really good! Great paintwork. Yellow is a pain but yours looks lovely and smooth. Fantastic canopy work, too.
I especially like the last photo - looks like it's glued to the ceiling!

Every shelf so full, so not space next to Oxford. I managed to rearrange some models in the small cabinet (where Oxford is). The Gnat, being fairly low in height, is halfway under the Concorde now. Just so the Harvard barely fit in.

That's the Lancfan technique. :)
I like taking pictures of the underside that way, so it looks 'in flight'.

Very nice indeed. Like the contrast of yellow and blue. Reminds me of cheese:-)
