This is my T6H Texan in Chisimaio landstrip, Somalia, 1954.
About the Acacdemy kit: is a very good kit, worth the prize.
The box is a perfect representation of a T6G.
For the T6H, the version used by AMI in Somalia, I just had to add the small radome on the back of the fuselage, which comes from my spare box, probably a Catalina and scratchbuild a long engine exhaust with a piece of stretched sprue.
Decals come from "Giulio's decals Warehouse"......ok, roundels and black number are from F86 Airfix New Tool. ;-)
Here the picture, hope you like, and hope you read brief history at the start of the post.

Thank you all, it was fun to participate in this GB.

I think that modeling is a subtle mix of zen philosophy and absolute crazyness - but in my case I would not dare to specify the respective percentage of each......

Splendid finish Giulio! Great photoshoot as well.
I also had to scratchbuild a longer exhaust, but yours look more realistic than mine. Top job.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

Lovely stuff as usual Giulio. Your yellow is a lot more subtle than mine is going to be. Like the photographic presentation. All of your models set an example for the likes of me to aspire to but probably will never achieve.
Enjoyment over accuracy. That's my motto

Toby, do not write stupid things  .
My models are not perfect, and never will be perfect.
But i have a lot of fun when I assemble a kit.
If you have a lot fun, pay attention, i said "lot of fun" not simply "fun", your models will be perfect!

About the yellow: AMI Harvards, brought three kinds of camo:
First Period, Overall Silver, yellow wings and black anti-glare panel.
Image

Second Period, overall Zinch Chromate with black anti-glare panel (my model)
Image

Last Period: Overall orange with black anti-glare panel

And my green/yellow, is easier to apply than the yellow ..... :-D

Regards. ;-)

My feelings also. Lovely model, and an excellent set of photos that really help bring it to life.

Very nice "Italian job".
This color was associated in Italy with flight schools for a very long period.

Great work Guilio!

Your yellow paint looks really good especially with the wash bringing the panels to life and your canopy looks great unmasked.

A brilliant photo shoot to round things off well :)

A stunning build my friend. Very nicely done.

All the best.
