I think that modeling is a subtle mix of zen philosophy and absolute crazyness - but in my case I would not dare to specify the respective percentage of each......

Thanks everyone for all the positive contributions on my first GB!
Just found out from OT's thread that the ailerons should've been silver - damn the Airfix painting guide that told me they were grey. It'll teach me to do my research a bit more thoroughly next time
