Re: Saxon's Airfix Harvard
Glad to see you have a go at another!
Mine is currently going at snail pace with the yellow. Hundreds of layers doesn't seem to be enough.
I'd be very happy if you did a Belgian version. Nice to see many different countries represented. But choice is yours.

Re: Saxon's Airfix Harvard
I gave up at 6 layers. Seems to have worked mostly but weathering will come into playPrisca wrote:

Good luck Saxon with Texan number 2
Enjoyment over accuracy. That's my motto
Re: Saxon's Airfix Harvard
Aiming for a Belgian one as well, the Airfix ones for RAF came with the thin paper over them which has stuck on the paper so I am not sure if they work anyway. Another possible option is a Peruvian one, we'll see what happens.Prisca wrote:Glad to see you have a go at another!

Re: Saxon's Airfix Harvard
Glad to see you doing Texan no.2!
It'll be interesting to see the fit of the canopy on the old Airfix kit compared to the Heller tooling they used in the later kits.
Watching with interest

The canopy fit is perfect! Here is the latest update, OD anti glare panel sprayed on. The Belgian one I want to do is overall metal finish with a yellow band around the fuselage.Miss-Stang wrote:Glad to see you doing Texan no.2!

Re: Saxon's Airfix Harvard
Glad to see your canopy is a much better fit than the one with the Heller tooling
It'd be nice to see it turned out in the Belgian colours, but there's such a great choice, it seems just about everyone used them at some point or another.
Keep up the good work!

Coming along really great there, Saxon.
Glad to see the canopy fits perfectly. It is always reassuring.

Re: Saxon's Airfix Harvard
Ok so I never really had a definite idea of which Air Force this would be flying in, Belgian appealed but if I can ever find it there is a Revell kit of a Harvard II in Belgian camo scheme which I would really like, so in the end I went with Colombian Air Force something different, the rudder decals broke apart so I had to hand paint that part but all in all I think a pretty good end result.

Re: Saxon's Airfix Harvard **FINISHED**
Very nice to see it in markings I've not seen before.
You just gotta hate when rudder decals break, it seems like they often do that.
You've done a very good job here, and I think it looks great!

Nice build on the Harvard mate, I like the blacked out canopy, looks mean.
