Great aluminium finish paul, what did you use?

Is that a 'matt' aluminium? Looks darn good and really smooth! Flawless paint job, well done on the paint mix.
I wasted the day, not got wasted yesterday.....
It's not really matt, but is the "non-buffable" version, which it is slightly buffable in reality. I like the subdued finish that MM Metalizer can give.

That's a nice, smooth finish, Paul.

Re: Paul's Swiss Miss
Cheers, guys.
Got a second Alu coat on this morning, and started decaling this arvo. Got the national markings and much of the stencilling on, but I'll wait for this to dry before adding the rest. Inexplicably, Xtradecal omitted the orange areas on the flappy/airbraky thingies on the outer wings and so I had to improvise - those orange patches, still to be trimmed, are cut from Esci 1/48 Kfir kit decals I had from about 30 years ago, but are the right colour....never throw anything away!
I see a couple of small gaps under the windscreen...
Almost there. Should be done next weekend.

Re: Paul's Swiss Miss
That alu finish really looks the business and the whole thing is really looking smart now the markings are going on Paul (good save with the orange bits, indeed never throw anything away ) The windscreen gaps aren't that obvious to me, but I'd wack in a smidging of PVA and then carefully touch up - but then again I am a bit of a bodger and your finishing standards are probably somewhat higher

Wow that looks good in Swiss markings! But where is the Swiss chocolate, did you eat it already?

Re: Paul's Swiss Miss
Cheers!
Sissel - yes, sorry, it's all gone. We had chocolate every day in Switzerland - it's delicious! My wife's cousin's wife gave us a "care package" when we left Switzerland for Croatia, and we just managed to finish that before we flew home. We stopped in Zurich for a few hours on the way home, to change planes, and met them at the airport. She gave us ANOTHER pound of chocolate to take home with us....! We finished that not long ago.

Cheers, Saxon.
Chocolate is its own food group, alongside pizza, so you can eat as much as you want, right.......?

I hope you two never go to Norway or taste Norwegian chocolate (but I know you can get some in England from special stores!). Cause then you are in deep trouble 'health-wise'. It's so good you wouldn't believe it!

Re: Paul's Swiss Miss
Naturally, go for it I say. Quite often I have that great triumvirate of health food groups, beer, pizza and chocolate over the course of an evening in front of the telly with my beloved, done it for years and I'm still here at 50+ (hopefully not famous last words)PaulBradley wrote:Cheers, Saxon.
