Fred's F5A

Post by fredk »

I found this whilst digging out the MiG 19, so I think I'll do it as well.
I'll miss PM models. I've built a few of their kits and found them to be nice and simple, easy to detail and improve if one wants to.

I have an old ESCI decal sheet with a VAF option on it. I'll dig it out later.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

I have the PM Model's F-5B in my ebay watch list, so I am interested to see how this goes. I like PM also for their simplicity.

Not often remembered as being used in SEA - a good choice!

Found the old decals for the SVAF. They are really badly printed. The stars are out of shape and out of register. I might get away with colouring the white bars in a US star 'n' bars marking.
Can anyone tell me please: Is it yellow or orange? [I'm colourblind ya see]

Welcome to the club Fred. I thought I was alone on here with that affliction. I get the wife to help out with some of the shades!!

Fred, some useful images here for you.

I fancied doing one of these myself but I can't commit to the time this month.

Nice basic kit hopefully it won't be a painful one with too much sanding and filling.

Sorry; not made a start on this yet. I've been caught up writing 5 special ghost stories and learning them for some perfomances tonight and over the next week. I hope to get started and finished over the few days from Staurday evening.
