Keep at her Toby, she's shaping up well but it sounds like there's likely to be more sanding to keep you busy for a while longer.

First coat of USAF grey seems to be about right but I have others I may try.

Re: Toby's Skyraider
Hey that is looking good Toby. These old Airfix kits start to look something like once a coat of paint is on. Given my dodgy colour vision I am not the best judge of shades, but as we all know paint shades do vary considerably machine to machine with military aircraft due to weathering effects and it looks fine to me.

Re: Toby's Skyraider
That's looking good. Too clean at the moment of course - Skyraiders are built with engine exhaust stains!

Re: Toby's Skyraider
That is certainly taking shape now Toby. Andrew has a point - these aircraft always seem to sport heavy exhaust staining and have a generally weathered appearance, they worked them hard!

Re: Toby's Skyraider
Decals have arrived from the USA and have got this set of weapons from Hasegawa to add to the Skyraider.
I think some were used on the Skyraider but if anyone knows exactly which ones I'd appreciate their input as I can't find a definitive list of ordnance that was used on the Skyraider.

Re: Toby's Skyraider
Not sure if much of the ordnance in the Hasegawa set would be used on a Skyraider but there is a list here that might be usefulhttp://www.zoukeimura.co.jp/en/products/sws07_ ... aider.html;
The set you may need is the bomb and rocket pod one...

Re: Toby's Skyraider
I have that Hasegawa set myself and I'm thinking of using a couple of the LGB's on my F-4. I suspect that none of the ordinance in there is suitable for the Skyraider.
Also, what is that hotlinking message all about? If there is a potential copyright issue can you remove the link please Toby, as we've just had an issue with this elsewhere on the forum. Ta very much.

Re: Toby's Skyraider
Shaun when I'm home I will remove it. Not sure what the problem is as it's part of the other link I posted.

No Toby, I'm on a laptop (I have a not very smart phone I'm afraid ) and the "no hotlink" message is in very large print, I suppose so that we get the message loud and clear. I'm only concerned about copyright issues as we don't all want to get in bother.
