AndrewR's Wooden Blunder ***Taken Flight***
I bet you thought it was a Mosquito!
But no, it's a Guillows Balsa glider, which Graham pranged about a year ago and has been waiting for repairs by Yours Truly ever since.
First thing to do is put the fuselage back together again!
cheers
Andrew

Re: AndrewR's Wooden Blunder
Yes, I was expecting a Mossie! This, however, is something different, a bit of aeromodelling in a plastic modelling forum. I used to have hours of fun with similar small balsa gliders as a kid. Back in those days the glue of choice was Humbrol Balsa Cement and I seem to recall getting through rather a lot on running repairs

Brilliant to see something so different Andrew. This GB is turning into a real all-rounder

I now know how the groundcrew felt when the pilot brought "their" plane back full of bullet holes, and they had to patch it up!Dazzled wrote:Brilliant to see something so different Andrew. This GB is turning into a real all-rounder

I just can't believe you do not have this one finished yet. And I think you should finish it in the elusive Malta Spitfire Scheme.

Planning any modifications. Aftermarket resin and decals maybe?

The decals on that Harrier have taken three times longer than I expected. And no, not Malta blue. Raspberry ripple perhapsjssel wrote:I just can't believe you do not have this one finished yet. And I think you should finish it in the elusive Malta Spitfire Scheme.

Re: AndrewR's Wooden Blunder
Ahhhh, Guillows, that brings back memories. I've built and flown so many of their small scale balsa models over the years. They weren't always easy to get over here in the UK, but I've still got a couple unbuilt in my 'Balsa Kit Stash' (Can you have a Balsa Kit Stash? Not really appropriate on a plastic modelling forum!).
Rather ambitiously I have got one of these in the stash which I am going to convert to electric power with four tiny motors and a small Li-Po battery. Wish me luck!
