She's looking very nice.
What's with the funky camo on the Pz.IV?

It's one of Graham's ready built tanks , so I think a little artistic licence went into the paint. The battle for Normandy is raging over the train layout... :)

That's looking very good Andrew and there's no shortage of targets for it to strafe there by the looks

It's turning out better than I expected, looking at the sprues :)

I still have to do a desert Kittyhawk though.
I thought that as soon as I saw one ;-)

Canopy frames handpainted with US OD from the Vallejo Model Colour range.

Still needs a bit of tweaking.

Good job painting those canopy frames by hand Andrew. Looks as good as a masked off paintjob. 8-)

Is this one in the finished pile now?

Not quite Darryl. A toothpick clean up on the canopy, some exhaust and gun stains and attaching the propeller and canopy. One more session at the bench, I hope.

Then I must crack on with the Harriers in SB-land.

Cheers

Very nice and good work on the canopy. Hand painting the frames and cleaning off excess with a cocktail stick or toothpick is still my preferred method on small scale aircraft - I just can't be bothered messing about with all the additional masking on top of that I have to do on the main airframe!

I picked up some 3 mm masking tape at the model show recently, and it was great for masking the vertical lines, so I sprayed those. I unmasked and masked the canopy edges with the tape and then hand painted the lower edges. So a bit of both techniques!

cheers

All things now stuck on.

I may have to put a bit of PVA glue in the gap under the canopy.

I've done a bit of pastel shading for the exhaust fumes and also powder stains from the guns. As a paid up member of the "Less is More" school of weathering, I intend to leave it as is now.
