Great work Fred, the crew figures are looking very good and will compliment the model nicely.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

He's not very handy as a mechanic thenIan wrote:He seems to have lost a hand!
Seriously though this is really coming along nicely Fred. Looking forward to seeing more.

Re: Fred' Tazio's TT MG
Alec lent a hand to one of the other mechanics, and forgot to ask for it back.
For handiness I left it off till he's almost done. The arm is an Airfix Napoleonic soldier's, the hand was shaped for holding a musket. A new hand from a Historix Nap soldier will be attached, after Alec's overalls are painted.
I have to go raiding through my soldiers spares to see if I can find a pair of goggles for him.
I might get some shaping and painting done on Alec tonight. Those aren't 'sideburns' thats part of his racing helmet which needs final shaping.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Thanks for clearing that up Fred.
Although, given the rivalry of races in those days, a musket for the mechanic may not be a bad idea .

Nice work Fred. I am relieved about the sideburns, for one terrible moment I thought I was watching The Onedin Line...

Re: Fred' Tazio's TT MG
Alec is finished off; Had to make some goggles for him. Overall white, with a grey wash, which was adjusted after this photo.
And where he's supposed to be;
Looking over his shoulder at a competitor coming up behind; I've seen a photo of Tazio entering Conway Square, where it is a slight right turn, and Alec is looking over his shoulder at another car closing up to them.

Thanks Nigel;
This car [possibly] is now down your way.
This car was one of four team cars and the bits mixed up over the years 1933 to 1936. One chassis, has been rebuilt as this car and is owned by someone in your country. Its only 25% believed that it is this actual car though. I'd need to look up my club newsletters and check.
