Ians E-Type Jag Gr.1 ** Complete **
Ians E-Type Jag Gr.1 ** Complete **
Looks like I've agreed to build a car! First one for about 20 years....
Picked up a cheap E-type which arrived yesterday, so I'm ready to go!
The kit
The parts
And the scheme I am going to try to emulate

Re: Ians E-Type Jag Gr.1
That's a great idea with a good connection in the name, but that's one hell of a colour scheme to pull off! When I read your title I imagined you were just going to do the green/grey camo, but this....
Will definitely follow this one mate.

Love the scheme, can't wait for this!
Seeing that Jag reminds me of the car museum in Malaga and the car show at the mall when I was over in London, there were plenty of beautiful old Jags there. None in this interesting camo though.

Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

The E-Type is one of my favourite cars, can't wait to see how it turns out with that scheme.

Will you be painting the spots or do you have the decal sheet?

Very interesting Ian and a great choice of scheme. I'm intrigued as well, are the spots decals or are you going to paint them on?

Wow, that's one hell of a colour scheme you've chosen there Ian
I wish you the best of luck, I'll be following with great interest!

Re: Ians E-Type Jag Gr.1
No decal sheet, just a mk.1 paintbrush! Decal-wise, I only need the roundels and some the serials (although I might have to use incorrect ones). And maybe some stencils.
I'll be painting both circles the and the 'ripped off' bodywork too. No sweat! LOL
I've made a start. The bodywork is all together, sanded and filled where appropriate (everywhere). Just a shame I forgot to add the dashboard......
I am thinking about adding some ejection handles to the seats.

Sounds like you've made a great start Ian. Ejection handles would look cool!

Re: Ians E-Type Jag Gr.1
You've not painted the interior before gluing it in?
It looks good though. Lots of gaps to fill or okay fit? (am asking cause I might get this myself)
And what is that black thingie that seems to have taken a nose dive?

Re: Ians E-Type Jag Gr.1
I'm more interested in the extrior painting, Sissel, although I will do work on the interior. The fit wasn't too bad. I've built 1:72 aircraft needing more filler than this.
The black thing is the B-52. It's too big to sit on the bench on its wheels........
