Well, personally I'd stick with white.

There, you have 3 different opinions, keep calm and make your decision

I'd keep them white Splash so as to match the wheels and roll cage. This is a great looking model!

What colour are the wing mirrors on a hawk?
I'd go with red to match the body colour where they are mounted.
I wish, that I knew what was doing!

panic

I just added the front windshield decal and it has gone all cloudy on me

I will let it dry before adding any more, if it doesn't clear I will simply remove it and paint all the black window surrounds by hand so no great problem.

Really nice paint job, Splash. Hope that windscreen clears (although to be honest I prefer the look of the car without the sun strip decal...)

That's a wierd reaction Splash, bad luck mate. Out of interest, was the winscreen Kleared first?

But it's still one cool looking Mini!

No klear used I think it is the decal glue that is cloudy.

I think I agree with Migrant so I might just take off the decal and go for the paint option.

Shame about the decal. I assume you'll keep the upper part of decal and remove the rest?

I have stripped the whole decal off and painted the black on by hand.

I thought about keeping the upper part but as Migrant said it looked better without.

Photos tomorrow when the sun comes up.

You're probably better with your promises than me, though.

I agree the car looks better without the upper decal too.

I agree, the top strip is absolutely unnecessary. That is such a super paint scheme !!!

Thanks for all your support I have really enjoyed this GB, when it was first announced I thought what a silly idea, I must be part of it and I'm glad I have been.

Cars are not my subject but this was a chance to have a change and unlike others my build was straight forward with no hitches apart from the decals.

I'm not sure if this kit as sold last Christmas in Marks & Spencer is the same as the Airfix version, but I can recommend it as a first time build as the kit has been designed to allow beginners to get good results first time.

So here is the finished article representing a 2012 session Red Arrow Hawk with it Hart Foundation hart shaped roundel.
